This section of the blog is where you’ll find some ways I am involved in outreach. In other words, think of this as a gas station. Whether it’s some creative idea I have or an opportunity to give, this is where I will make those fuel stops.
The most essential need for a car engine is fuel. Just like it’s impossible to drive continuously without stopping for it, the same is true in following God’s plan for our lives. We cannot grow in our journeys without refueling our hearts. One of the most vital attributes of being a true Christian is our Love for others. If we fail to show this Love, our hearts will eventually sputter and then lock up, just as a car engine would right before it runs out of gas. Until we refuel, we will cease to function. There are a few reasons we may find ourselves on empty. We may be spending too much time on ourselves, and our needs become more superior to the needs of others, or we filled our hearts with the wrong type of fuel. In other words, we had the wrong motives to start with. God states in Philippians 2:3-4, “Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also the interests of others.”
Once a person comes to Faith in God, he transforms our hearts with a Love that reflects how He Loves. He equips us with a hungering need to reach out to others. This is not a need we feel out of obligation, but out of deep conviction. 2 Corinthians 9:7 “Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly, or under compulsion, for God Loves a cheerful giver.” I believe for God to bring us to the destination he has planned for us, we must first make sure our hearts are fueled with Him.
In many cases, we should remain humble in our giving. God tells us in Matthew 6:3 “But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing”. So, I will not expose every good act of service I do. However, as motivation for other dream chasers, in support of the purpose of this blog and to truthfully illustrate the Christian Life, I find it imperative to lead by example. So, here is a reflection of who God is when we put our convictions into action.
