People are going to attack you.
They will use scripture in misconstrued and misinterpreted ways.
They will laugh at you.
They will shout blasphemies against God.
They will ridicule your faith. They will say you are the one who is judging. They will call you weak. They will try and challenge what you know. They will come in hot with guns a blazing and teeth grinding, fists clenched and anger bleeding from the depths of their souls.
They will say Christianity is false. They will use other religions to try and sway us to believe we are wrong. They will shame our beliefs by vomiting up their own.
These people are trapped inside worldly bubbles and are breathing in the air from a very contaminated world, the lies, traditions, impositions, and desires to agree with the world so severely deceived all tucked inside this bubbles with them.
Their belief system has been shaped by sin and lies; generations of sins and lies. Even our systems were once shaped by the lies. Don’t forget that. Their hearts have been hacked by the enemy’s treacherous schemes, as so were ours at one time.
If God chose to raise the curtain on the world right now, If He did right now at this moment, and exposed the horror and filth of the hearts and minds of those who do not see, what do you think He would show us? Here is what I envision.
He would bring us to our knees. Every single one of us. We would be horrified at how diseased our hearts are. We would be consumed with shame. We would be brought to a desperate cry for mercy. We could not be in the presence of God as unholy as we are. People might think they could argue God, but they are mistaken. They cannot understand what they do not believe.
If He were to choose to show us right now where He dwells, and how real His word is, I envision we would learn that we have let ourselves believe that our minds had the capacity to hold an understanding of the vastness and greatness of God and who He is. We would realize we know nothing about the real reasons He allows and doesn’t allow things to happen in this world. Who are we to think we can play God? In that instance, our bubbles would burst. There would be no hiding from it. Rationalizing it. Arguing it. The security of what was once known as our beliefs would be turned into the dusty ashes it actually is, humbling our hearts into a cradled position.
God is a God of truth, and every single lie would be exposed for what it is right in front us. We would see then. We would see vague images of God reflecting in the eyes of those who tried to reach us. Who tried to warn us. How do you think it’s going to feel for them when they realize they are the ones who were deceived? Can you imagine how fierce that pain is going to be? Let this rise the compassion in your heart, instead of the anger. Let this be a powerful enough reason to keep on loving.
We would feel the power of true faith pounding into each echo of our hearts. We could not resist it, nor would we want to. Filled to the brink of absolution and fear, we would see then.
But, for now, brave off these attacks. Remember who you serve. Be reminded of what God tells us about the persecution we will face. (2 Timothy 3:12, Indeed all who desire to live a Godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted). There will be times when you find yourself fighting off the desire to fight back the ignorance. Instead, close your eyes and see the blood of Jesus pouring out onto the cross for you. For all of us. We stand for Jesus. Let the world take what they want from that. That is whose light we carry in us. Let that light shine bright because the world will be looking for it sooner or later. And when they do, they will know. Until then….
Let them laugh. Let them think you are crazy. Let them tell you are drinking the Kool-aid. Let them assume you are brainwashed. Let them poke fun. Let them talk behind your back. Let them call you names. Let them throw their punches. Let them do what they must to satisfy their own misled hearts. Let them tell their version of the truth. It is NOT your job to judge. It is your job to Love and tell the truth.
I know it hurts. I know it gets so frustrating to the point you ask God why does He allow his people to look like the bad ones? I know you will fall short of this sometimes. We all do. Just continue to stand firm and trust in Him. You are NOT brainwashed. Deception has turned it around to make us look like we are. Don’t fall for it or back down from the truth. I know the masses are against you. It is hard that it has to be this way, but it has to. But, you know what God has done for you. You have felt and seen Him work in your life. You have personally felt Him transform you into a brand new person. People aren’t going to be able to understand this. It’s a journey they must choose to take for themselves. Remember, 2 Corinthians 4:3-4: And even if our gospel is veiled only to those who are perishing, in their case the god of the world (who is Satan) has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
Be reminded by just looking around you. Look at all the hypocrisy, lies, greed, power, betrayal that has infected much of this world. Just look at what deception has done. Look at how people justify it. Notice how they rationalize it. Look at the price they are paying for buying into the world’s largest and most deceitful lie it has ever told… to believe their own version of God. To think that the real one should be persecuted because that would mean there are consequences, that would mean conviction of our own faults. That would mean we would need to listen to the way he wants us to live, instead of the way we want to live. That would mean accountability. That would mean everything we have ever been led to believe is a lie, so imagine that sting. That would mean the enemy loses.
Remember, though; the enemy has already lost. He knows this. That’s why he is pursuing as many hearts as he can to burn the bridge between humanity and God. And he is winning a LOT of people over. It hurts like crazy to watch I know. The more you see, the more it hurts. But, God is also pursuing the people in this world. He pursued you and had transformed you. He wants to use you as a means of pursuit to others. He knows the persecution you will face. That’s why he gives us new strength. That’s why he gives us Godly wisdom. That’s why He guides us. He knows we wouldn’t be able to sustain the attacks otherwise. He knows we wouldn’t be able to reflect His light to others. Remember this. He is for you and not against you. So, let people attack. The battle is not with them. It never was. That’s why we must continue to Love through the hate. That’s why we must turn the other cheek. The battle is not ours, but God’s. Just be prepared.
